You probably haven't thought about your car's serpentine belt. However, if you've lifted the hood to check your oil or antifreeze levels, you have no doubt noticed it. Over time, the serpentine belt can become cracked and worn. That can cause it to slip and make an annoying squeaking noise when your engine is running. When your serpentine belt slips, the electrical supply to your car's system may be reduced and interrupted. With continued degradation, the serpentine belt can fail and with it the ability for your car to function.

Don't wait for that day, be proactive.

Swedish Motors will always make an inspection of your serpentine belt a part of the maintenance that we perform when you bring your Volvo in for service. If we find that your serpentine belt is starting to fail, we'll recommend a replacement belt to give you peace of mind.

You might have a serpentine belt problem if:
